Abstract

Background and Objectives: There is a deep connection between the teacher's quality level and his/her productivity from the point of view of students' academic performance. This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of job performance in predicting teachers' productivity. Methods: The current research is applied, quantitative and of the descriptive and comparative type. The statistical population of this research included the students of the second elementary period in the Falard region in the year of 2022-2023, that 116 students of retired working teachers were censused, and 116 students of young teachers were randomly sampled, then two questionnaires including Paterson's job performance and Hersey and Blanchard and Goldsmith's labor productivity were implemented on 232 people. Findings: The young teachers’ task performance had the highest average, and the retired working teachers’ field performance had the lowest average. Also, the young teachers’ ability level had the highest average, and the retired working teachers’ motivation level had the lowest average. Unlike young teachers, retired working teachers’ job performance components can predict their productivity. The amount of both job performance components and the amount of all components of productivity were higher in young teachers than retired working teachers. Conclusion: Therefore, these results point out the necessity of maximum recruitment of young teachers to the policy makers and officials of the elementary education system, so that we can see the students' increasing academic progress.
